I HAVE BUILT MODELS IN THE CONVENTIONAL WAY, BUT IAM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MEDIA TO BUILD WITH, SO HERE I WILL BE PLACING PHOTOS AND BUILDING TEC STUFF THAT I USE, AND I HOPE OTHERS WILL TRY.I LIKE TO MAKE COMPICATED MODELS, BUT I DO SUGGEST TRYING DANS CREATIONS, AND HIS PLANS IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS, AS THEY BUILD EASY AND FLY GREAT! BUT IF YOU WANT TO TRY SOME COMPILCATED STUFF, THEN FOLLOW ALONG WITH ME AND EXPERIMENT! THE FOAM`S CHEEP, SO MISTAKES ARE NO BIG THING. NOW FOR THE TEC STUFF. I USE A METHOD THAT IS FAMILIAR TO STICK BALSA BUILDERS, AND IS CALLED SILLOETT,BULKHEAD,AND STRINGER CONSTRUCTION,OR CLAM-SHELL CONSTRUCTION. THIS METHOD GIVES A THREE DIMENTIONAL SHAPE TO AN AIRCRAFT,
AND ALLOWS SKINNING, THE FRAME FOR A VERY STRONG AND LIGHT AND HISTORICAL PLANE MODEL. THE AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE IS MADE IN TWO HALFS, (LEFT AND RIGHT)AND THIS IS DONE ON A FLAT BOARD, OR A PEICE OF GLASS. IT IS DONE THIS WAY TO ACHIVE A STRAIGHT, AND ACCURATE FUSALAGE, READY FOR SKINNING AND SO IT WILL FLY ACCURATLY! SO IN THE PHOTO, YOU WILL SEE THE RIGHT HALF OF MY MODEL,WITH THE BULKHEADS SECURED TO A SILLOETT FRAME, AND THE STRINGERS, LONGITUDINALLY SECURED TO THE BULKHEADS,TO MAKE THE AIRCRAFT SHAPE!
IN THE FORGROUND YOU SEE WHAT THE BULKHEADS LOOK LIKE, AND ALL OF THIS IS CUT OUT USING AN EXACTO KNIFE AND A STEADY HAND. IF YOU NOW GO TO PICTURE NUMBER TWO, I WILL EXPLANE MORE.
